Hours and Schedule

The Madrona Marsh Preserve and Nature Center is free to the public and open during the times listed below. These hours and schedule may change due to adverse weather, other environmental conditions, and volunteer availability. Please call the Nature Center (310) 782 - 3989 before you visit to verify the status.

Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Schedule of Ongoing Programs
  • More programs will be gradually re-introduced over a period of several months.
  • All programs are free unless otherwise noted.
  • Participation is limited for all programs. Unless otherwise noted, pre-register for events by calling the Nature Center - (310) 782-3989.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Day Time Programs
Thursdays (1st of the month) 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Tyke Hike - Ages 0 - 6 years ($5 donation)
Bring your very young children for a walk in the Preserve (strollers OK).
Thursdays (2nd of the month) 10:30 a.m. - Noon Nature Storytime - Ages 3 - 5 years
Listen to a story, science, crafts.
Friday (every week) 10 a.m. - Noon Friday Fun - Ages 3 - 6 years
A new learning topic about nature every week, crafts, science, story time.
Saturdays (2nd of the month) 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Nature Walk - All ages
Explore the Preserve with a trained docent.
Saturdays (2nd of the month) 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm (winter and spring)
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm (summer and fall)
Night Hike - Night Hike - All ages ($5/person or $10/family)
Explore the Marsh at night.
Saturdays (3rd of the month) 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Henrietta Basin Walk - All ages
Meet at 20501 Henrietta St., Torrance, for a docent-led tour of Henrietta Basin.
Saturdays (4th of the month) On hold until further notice PV/SB Audubon Society Bird Walk is now .
Looking at Birds of the South Bay
Online registration only, announced monthly.
Saturdays (weather permitting) 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Habitat Restoration
Planting, habitat maintenance and creation, non-native plant & litter removal.
