The Madrona Marsh Preserve Management Plan
The Friends of Madrona Marsh continue with City of Torrance Goals and Objectives for The Madrona Marsh Preserve
Restore and maintain appropriate Preserve habitats to that which represents a seasonal wetlands circa 1800’s with a native upland habitat
Maximize its resources for the use of native plant and wildlife (all native animals including mammals, birds, reptiles, insects and aquatic biota) (excludes domesticated and or non-native animals)
Educate visitors about the Preserve and Nature Center content
Provide passive recreation opportunities for visitors
Preserve and conserve the Preserve’s habitats and natural resources while promoting biodiversity.
Promote the Preserve’s natural aesthetic view
Protect and enhance plant and wildlife habitat
Protect and enhance wildlife populations
Develop and maintain a complete plant and wildlife species inventory
Provide environmental education using Madrona Marsh Preserve resources
Promote volunteer involvement
Promote internal education and consistency in the City of Torrance’s and the Friends of Madrona Marsh’s actions
Promote interdepartmental (City of Torrance) and interagency cooperation to protect and enhance Madrona March Preserve
